Your bedroom is the first place you see in the morning and the last place you see at night. Your sleep is vital to getting the most out of your day. For this reason I love for my bedroom to be simple, clean, and comfortable. It’s something I’m striving to get better about because our dresser tends to be a landing spot for laundry, and kids’ toys somehow always end up in there, but I like to keep my bed made and the décor minimal.
Our bedding is kind of old and showing it’s age. I have two duvet covers – one is white (or should I say was white, now it’s more whiteish) and the other is a dark gray that I’m honestly just not a huge fan of. Both are about 4 years old from when we bought our bed. And so are our sheets and throw pillows. It was time for an update.

I kept everything super light and minimal. I love a white bed. I know it’s impossible to keep white, but I just love it. For that reason I went with some cheaper sheets from Amazon that had really good reviews. Let me tell you, they are soooooo soft! I love them and will be ordering more. They are $30 but feel like they are easily over $100.
The duvet I chose was a very simple white duvet. It was $34 and it is also really soft. It’s on the thinner side, but I don’t really mind that and I know my husband (and 3 year old) will love that it’s thinner.
I added some pretty pillows in white and tan colors that tie in our bed. These were very reasonably priced and good quality! I was very impressed with the quality of these. These are covers only, so you will need inserts if you don’t already have some. The white lumbar is here for $15, and the tan ones are a 2 pack here for $18.

Norstrom throw blanket here
The last thing I added was a pretty, soft throw blanket (see my Instagram stories on this for more of the difference). I found this one on Amazon and instantly thought of the Nordstrom one for $40 that has such great reviews. The Amazon one is $23. I ordered the Nordstrom one as well to test the difference for you before sharing. As a decorative throw blanket, I like the Amazon one for the price. The color may be a little bit bright for me, but it does take away the winter gloom a little!
This all came out to only about $125, and with a little decluttering, our bedroom feels new and refreshed. It’s amazing the difference new bedding and simplifying can make on a space!
