Hello! New little series here on the blog I’m starting today. I love going to restaurants and hotels and stores and getting inspiration from the interior design and architecture that’s in place there. I also have a bit of an obsession with looking at Zillow and Realtor at homes for sale at various price points and in various locations.
Anyway, with this series I’m going to look at different hotels, restaurants, homes, etc and create mood boards to get the look for your own home. I’m finding retail items that are available for purchase or to use as inspiration in your search.

Up first is a place in Albuquerque, New Mexico (where we lived for 8 years) that is a hotel, restaurant, shop, and lavender farm called Los Poblanos Historic Inn. It’s also a very popular and gorgeous wedding venue. It’s tucked away in the Rio Grande valley surrounded by huge cottonwood trees which makes it feel like nothing you would expect New Mexico to be. At least for me!
We never managed to stay at the hotel at Los Poblanos, but they have these beautiful little farmhouse rooms that are pretty much out in the lavender fields with the alpacas that call Los Poblanos home. The decor is a mix of modern farmhouse and that old world rustic southwestern that is so classic of New Mexico. It feels modern and updated, but you know you are in Albuquerque.
The restaurant, Campo, has the same feel to it. It’s modern and airy while still feeling cozy and romantic and bringing the old world charm of the southwest.
This mood board incorporates elements from the hotel to the restaurant to the farm grounds and gives you ideas to pull for various areas of your home.
Get The Look – Los Poblanos

Canopy Bed // Ristras // Lavender // Pendant Light // Tile // Chair // Peacock Coasters // Coffee Table // Sofa // Rug
The black metal canopy beds are probably my favorite item. I just love the grandness of a canopy bed mixed with the simplicity of the clean lines. The chile pepper ristras are all over the farm and New Mexico and a must have to this look, as well as some dried lavender!
I love the use of patterned tile all around the hotel and restaurant. It’s a great way to add interest into your own home as well.
The chairs and sofa just have this warmth to them and a rustic feel with the brown earthy leathers, but the lines of them are still simple and modern.
A Los Poblanos get the look post wouldn’t be complete without a peacock either! Beautiful peacocks walk the grounds of Los Poblanos and add so much to the atmosphere. I love these neutral coasters for a subtle way to add the peacock to your decor.
