Are you a crafty mama with your kids or one who cringes at all of the mess that comes along with all of those projects? I for one have been a cringer in the past. And still am to some extent. Doing any sort of craft or baking project with a 2 and a 4 year old always results in tons of time and work and mess. I have definitely trapped myself into thinking that it was going to just go so smoothly and be a quick little project for them only to be immediately proven wrong. And then been anxious at the paint they were getting on themselves, or the flour they were throwing on the floor, or the water that’s getting everywhere.
And then a fun activity turns into not a whole lot of fun… And who wants to look back on that? Who wants those memories? No one.
I for one, would rather have the memories of painted faces, and flour all over the kitchen, and eating way too much cookie dough and icing, and LAUGHTER! Nothing beats laughing and smiling with your family.

I have one simple trick to help you achieve this.
Embrace the mess. Plan for the mess. Expect it and love it. Make it part of your purpose to make a mess. It’s literally as simple as that. If you are expecting it and planning for it, when the inevitable mess happens, you aren’t thrown off. You are able to take it for what it is and have fun with it.
Most messes can be cleaned pretty easily and really have no real impact on your life. Try it with some holiday baking and see how much fun you can have!
