Christmas lights, movies, cookies, and Christmas cards! I love this time of year, that’s no secret. I just love the joy and magic and sparkle that the Christmas season brings. I love that at this time of year, we can get so much joy from the small things, and we take the time to slow things down and gather with family and friends. We spend time baking cookies and listening to Christmas music with the kids. My boys are at the age where all of the the Christmas things are so much fun for them and it just makes it extra special for me to see their excitement!
One of my favorite things at this time of year is to send and receive Christmas cards! It’s one of those small joys throughout the season that I just love. I love the way receiving a card just elevates a simple and mundane trip to the mailbox. Instead of bills and advertisements (and jury duty summons – ughh), we get these little envelopes of joy mixed in as well!
Thank you to Basic Invite for sponsoring this post! All opinions are 100% my own!

This year for my Christmas cards I have partnered with Basic Invite. This is a new company to me, and I just loved all of the options they have for cards! They range from elegant and simple to colorful and fun, and they have just tons of options for personalization! Every part of their cards is customizable! For each portion of the card you can change the color to one of their 180 color options, plus 3 foil options! The other thing that is really cool with Basic Invite is their address capturing. You can place a link within any social media platform to receive friends and families addresses, and Basic Invite will then print these on the envelopes for no added cost!

I chose this simple card with an arch and little sparkles. It kind of felt like a little snow globe around our family which I loved! It’s also a very unique design which I really loved as well! It was actually a just married card that I was able to customize to make it a family Christmas card! I loved getting to take to the beautiful bones of their card and get creative making it fit my needs! For the back of the card I went with 3 photos, because I love our family photos so much I couldn’t just settle on the one! They have several different options to choose from for the back -from a basic print to a collection of photos, or even text bubbles to give family updates!
I’ve included below a few of my other favorite designs – there are so many good ones! I love the adorable “we moved christmas cards” and was very close to selecting one of them since we did move this year!

And on that note of of appreciating the small joys – make family photos for your Christmas cards one of them! It doesn’t have to be a stressful event by any means. Choose a location you will have fun in, make a family date night out of, do a fun activity together and get photos of it! This year we dressed super casual, went out into the desert and just hiked around a bit. The boys got to play with dirt and bugs, we climbed rocks, had tickle fights, and overall just had a fun time!
I hope you can fin the joy in all of the small moments this holiday season, and I look forward to getting your Christmas card in the mail!
