It’s time to start thinking about those Christmas cards! I love this time of year so much! I am absolutely one of those people who starts with the Christmas movies, music, décor (planning at least) before Halloween. I feel like I’ve started even earlier since we’ve been in New Mexico because it gets so cold here. If it’s cold, it might as well be Christmas.
Cameron is responsible for the main ingredient of the red vintage FJ and the hot cocoa in the woods theme. How perfect is vintage and red in the woods for your holiday cards?!
Because we had the red, I waned to keep everything else really neutral and minimal. Believe in Joy is something I came up with to guide my planning. I think to believe in the joy of the season, we need to strip away a lot of the extra. We need to really lean into what really matters – family. I wanted these to feel less like perfectly done up fancy photos and more like a cherished holiday memory.
I started with shopping my own Christmas décor. I immediately pulled out my Letters to Santa mailbox. I love this piece so much with the whimsy and belief it creates for Christmas. I added a lantern and some pillows that I had next.
I ordered this blanket to make the scene feel cozy and warm. I ordered these camp mugs and these camp mugs for hot cocoa. We used mason jars to store cocoa, marshmallows, and cinnamon sticks. All the hot cocoa necessities.
