I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona where it’ll drop into the 60s in the winter, maybe a few days in the 50s. My mom said it was 75 degrees there just the other day. I’m a warm weather girl. Then I moved to Albuquerque, NM and there are days in the winter where it doesn’t leave the 30s and a warm day is 60 degrees. January to May is hard here for me. I feel like we all get a little bit of winter blues toward the middle to end of winter, and I wanted to share with you a few ways to help fight them off until warm weather comes back!

Get Outside on those warm days – when the temps are warm enough to throw some jackets on and get out – do it. The sunshine and fresh air are so good for boosting moods beating those winter blues.
Eat anti inflammatory foods AKA plants! Fueling your body with the good stuff will do wonders for your mood.
Move your body. Go to the gym. Bundle up and go for a run. Do a workout class on YouTube. Move your body every day and get those endorphins flowing!
Get outa dodge! If you are able to get a weekend away, take it and go thaw out for a few days! We typically go to PHX in March for spring training and the air show at Luke Air Force Base. It’s so nice to put shorts and sandals on for a few days and just be warm! We need to start doing a January trip too! Warm weather is the perfect remedy for winter blues.
Last, but not least, your clothing! Wear something bright and that makes you feel awesome! This pretty sweater that says happy brightens my mood and reminds me to be happy every time a see it in the mirror. The tie dye trend right now is also a good one to try! It always makes me feel like it’s warmer than it actually is! Plus, guys just the act of getting dressed can pick you up. Seriously, get out of your pjs, put on jeans and a cute top and enjoy your day.
Do you love winter or are you not so patiently awaiting Spring?
