With our days all starting to blend together and the unknown state of the world, it can be easy to slip into a slump. I have had my moments of feeling unmotivated and uninspired. We never really know what our future holds, and we are never really in control of what happens to us, but right now that feels magnified. Plans that we have made have been cancelled on us, routines that were working for us are now gone.
There is something about reading a book that always seems to help me with the kick in the pants inspiration I need to get back on track. You are forced to slow down a bit when you’re reading, press pause on the constant stream of media, and immerse yourself in something.
If you are looking for a new read, this list of books will give you some inspiration to be better and maybe give you a kick in the pants to get moving on your goals and dreams! Some of these are favorites of mine, and some are on my list to read!

The Obstacle Is The Way by Ryan Holiday – the perfect book to read right now. All about how the challenges in life can be the gifts in our lives. Really great read!
Becoming by Michelle Obama – starting this one now and I’m already loving it. She is just such an inspirational woman.
Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis – a get up off the ground take control kick in the pants.
Girl Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis – the no excuses, get it done kick in the pants sequel.
Capital Gaines by Chip Gaines – I love so much about this one, specifically that he talks about not living our lives rooted in fear.
Get Out of Your Own Way by Dave Hollis – the title really says it here. How to stop believing societal lies and grow.
The One Thing by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan – essential read for a business owner or entrepreneur, but helpful information for everyone. Great time management tips.
Finding Your Path by Carrie Underwood – really good and practical tips for living a healthy lifestyle.
The Greatest You by Trent Shelton – on my list of books to read, but I love his podcast.
Wake Up Happy by Michael Strahan – also on my list of books to read.
Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink – my husband read this and said it was so good!
How Not to Die by Michael Gregor – on my list. It’s about how to eat for our health.
The China Study by T. Colin Campbell – book about the study of the relationship between food and disease.
52 Lists for Happiness – More of a workbook than reading, but just as good for finding joy.
